Our accessibility goal for this website
We want everyone to be able to read about our tours and get in touch with us, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How this website is built for access
- Every page has one main heading, headings in order, landmark regions and a “Skip to content” link.
- Menus, search, filters, dropdown lists, question lists and day-by-day itineraries work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline, and announce their state to screen readers.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG AA color contrast, and text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content.
- Photographs have text alternatives that describe what they show; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Route maps are images, so every stop on a map is also listed in the text of the page.
- Date and price tables have proper headers, and on phones each cell is labeled.
- Nothing moves or plays on its own, and animations are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
- The route maps are pictures. Every stop is listed in the text of the page, but the shape of the route is shown only on the map; ask us and we describe any route in words.
- We work by email. If email is hard for you, write one line saying how you would like to be contacted, and we will call you or answer the way that suits you.
How we test the website
We tested the site in October 2026 with automated checks (Lighthouse and our own scripts for headings, labels and links), with keyboard-only navigation, at 200% zoom, and on phones from 360 pixels wide. We test again every time we change the design.
Report an accessibility problem
If something on this website is hard to use, please tell us: write to [email protected] with the page address and what happened. We reply within two working days and send you the information you need in another format while we fix it.
Access on our tours
This statement is about the website. Our tours visit old towns with cobbles and steps, cellars and working farms; the pace section of How to book explains how active each tour is. Tell Lena about any mobility, sight or hearing needs before you book and she will say honestly which tours work for you.
