This website sets no cookies
This website does not set any cookies, first-party or third-party. It has no analytics, no advertising tags, no social media buttons, no embedded videos and no chat widget, and it does not save anything in your browser’s local storage.
That is why you do not see a cookie banner here: there is nothing to accept or refuse.
Fonts, maps and photos come from our own server
Everything the pages need is served from forkfulfieldtrips.com itself: the fonts, the photos and the route maps. The maps are still images that we drew on top of an Esri base map and saved on our server, so viewing them does not contact Esri or any other map service.
Search on this site runs in your browser, using a small list of our tours that loads from our own server. When you open the results page, your search words are part of the page address, so they appear in our server log like any other address; they are not shared with anyone.
Links to other websites and email links
Some pages link to other websites, such as the Wikimedia Commons pages of the photographs on our credits page. Once you follow a link, that website’s own cookie and privacy policies apply.
Our “Write to Lena” and “Subscribe by email” buttons open your own email program with a message ready to fill in. Nothing is sent until you press send there.
Technical logs kept by our hosting provider
Like every website, our hosting provider’s servers record each request: IP address, browser type, page and time. These logs are not cookies, are not used to track you across sites and are deleted after about 30 days. Our privacy policy explains this in full.
If we ever add cookies
If we ever add a tool that sets cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will list each one here with its purpose and lifetime, and ask for your consent before it is set. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
